Subject: Big Bud 950/50 "New & Improved"

I've been soliciting these pics around today and figured their are some folks that might find this Beast interesting or at least connect you to your inner-child for the more stoic/mature among us.

Pics of the finished 950/50 that Glinz had, courtesy of harrsalli on TTT. It's going to a peanut farmer near Lubbock, TX supposedly. It was the 160" wheelbase Series 3 model 650/50.
It now has a QSK23 Cummins rated at 950hp and has upgraded Clark 85K lb axles.

I wonder how much this beast weighs in at?! With that much horsepower do the new
owners have anything for it to pull that would challenge it?
What I wouldn't give to spend an hour in the drivers seat making some smoke.

Looks like they have changed the tires and wheels again. That thing sure has had a lot of different combinations, It has been a struggle to find a way to get tires to put the power to the ground. Has been a lot of dollars sunk into that old girl, but they got er looking good for another owner.

That sure looks like a tiny drawbar pin for such a monster of a tractor. It is a very nice looking machine-nice, in a menacing sort of way. I wouldn't have any implements to even slow her down, but it would be a lotta fun to try!

i'd say your are right on the size. Great tires, we have a set on a combine, and 900/55 r 46 on a 9510 and a couple more on 800/46r 46's.

Looks neat. It seems like it would be very difficult to get the power to the ground.

What an awesome toy! Whats the story with the 8v92 detroit powered big buds? They seem to be the last ones to sell alot of the time. Do they not have a good reputation or people just prefer cummins?

The 747 the largest Big Bud used a Detroit for fitment issues in the drivetrain. The Big Bud engineer Keith Richardson I believe is his name was a Cummins guy, but remember farmers could custom order them with what powerplant they want. The 650/50 here exclusively used a Detroit 12V92. Cummins I believe was the most prevalent engines used, thus the 525/50 was the most prolific of the buds using cummins kt1150. The 747 had to use the 16V92tt to fit in the driveline.

they do for 2015. Emissions is tied to the engine though and I doubt they picked a new enough QSK that is would have any emissions equipment.

It used to have one. See pic. If that is your idea of a beacon? I heard when they rebuilt it they turned to each other ala..."Blazing Saddles" and said...."We don't need no stinking beacons"!
