I just got a Steiger wildcat 1000 (9130) I have the Outback STS and E-Drive. I am going to order the steering valve for it. Does anybody have tips for things like antenna placement, sincitivity, setting flow rate, for best results. this will be my first articulated tractor with guidance. Just wanted to try inserting a picture so heres a picture of the tractor, I hope. (000_0008.jpg) Attachments ---------------- 000_0008.jpg (44KB - 182 downloads)

Walnut Grove, MN. | we use the outback in our articulated tractor it works good. we have the S2. we have the antenna mounted centered on the cab as far forward as you can get it run perfect there for me. some say put the antenna on the front of the hood. the hydralic block i have is set at 2 1/2 turns open. i played with it before i got it to where i liked it. i dont go to the field without it.

I used to have a 946 versatile with an s3 and e-drive. It performed alot better with the antennae on the front of hood vs. front of cab.

N Central IA | Outback can program the e-drive specifically for an articulated tractor this is supposed to help when you mount the antenna on the roof, I still have mine on the front of the hood, but some say you can get a reflection from the cab glass when you do this. I have two articulateds and they both act different, one works great on the roof and the other needs to be on the front. I had a neighbor that had one for a 9170, I can check if he still has it if you'r interested. Edited by tileplow 2/2/2011 21:00

outback works real well on these I have the sensitivity on 3 if i remember right, and have the antenna in the front of the hood, I find it to steer better that way if the tractor wanders a little then it picks it up way quicker then when it's on the cab.

Did our CIH 9270 with outback, used a steering valve for a 7220 magnum and made a braket from the roof to put the antenna over the center of the front axle. Works great, not sure of the settings, but it will beat you silly if its not right.

question for tile plow if outback reprograms the edrive, for an articulated tractor, will it still work on a row crop tractor? Yes I am interested in the neighbor's valve for the 9170.

NEWTON, IL (SE IL.) | No. If you program for articulated, it will act funny on a regular tractor. But you can set it back to regular. Not one you're going to want to move from rig-to-rig.

N Central IA | I don't think he still has it but I can check for you, if you want to move it tractor to tractor I would just leave it at faactory settings seems to work on some articulateds that way anyway. I'll be gone till the 12 but heres my cell you can call me and leave me a number. 641 580 1235

SE North Dakota | Make sure you get the e-drive programed for an articulated tractor, makes a world of difference. It takes the side to side shake out of it.
