northwest tennessee | Does anyone have a hay unroller that uses a hydraulic motor to spin the bale? Would like to get one or make one. Any pics would be nice.

WY, OK | We have 3 of them, not sure the maker. Just took 5 minutes searching google and haven't found anything close to what we have. It is a single 50" or so spear with a rotating assembly around it that has 3- 12" spears, that connects to the hydraulic pump via chain. No complaints other than the chain will get caught up in the guard so you take it off the it eats up twine or net wrap and eventually ruins things. The 3 spinner spears also bend too easy we had to reinforce ours.

northwest tennessee | I have been googling too and Worksaver makes one but cant find a price. I think they are high though. I think they would be better than the ones that unroll the bale on the ground.

Southwest Missouri | If I needed to make one, I would get an old drive axle from a combine (I only know Gleaners). Make a spear unit that bolts where the wheel did and put your hydraulic motor on the shaft that came from the transmission.

NE IA | Built this bale spear years ago using the final drive off an International 101 combine. I cut the wheel center off of the rim and welded spear shank holder to the front of it. The rim can still be unbolted from the final drive. Had plans to make other attachments for it, but haven't as of yet. Got the largest horse power/slowest rpm hydraulic motor from Surplus Center. Still use it everyday. Here's some pictures. If you need better pics, I'll snap some in the morning. sc ia | I made an unroller that slips on my stabber bars on my loader. It's 2 tires mounted on wheels and spindles with it's own frame. The tires are 14 in. and about 3 ft. apart. I just push the bale around to unroll it. Might not be as good as hydraulic but it does work fairly well.

northwest tennessee | Thanks for the replies and pics. They look like they should work well. Called and priced a new Worksaver brand and they wanted 2100.00 for it. Dont believe I could see going that high on one.

I was aways told to use a final drive from JD 95 combine. We built one like the DewEze arms on a three point arms for tractor. When we bought the DewEze truck bed I quit using the tractor one. I also use a Brandt bale processor as well.

northwest tennessee | That is the type unroller I will prolly end up with. I need one now and could be using it. I have unrolled in the past by hand after starting it with the forks on the tractor.
