Subject: Planter Fertilizer Tank Capacity

Watertown, WI
Want some advice on planter fertilizer tanks. Have a White 8108 (8R30" Rigid). Looking at putting on both nitrogen and popup. Was thinking of 400 gallons 28% (40 acres @ 30 units) and 200 gallons popup (40 acres at 5 gals). Would do (2) 200 gallon tanks for 28% and (2) 100 gallon tanks for popup.

Do you think 600 gallons would be too much to carry on an 8 row planter? Little concerned about where the tongue is welded to the frame if the tanks hang forward much. Only have 4 lift wheels right now. Would we want 6? Should we lower our acre expectations between fills? We farm on the side, so most of the planting is in the middle of the night. Time is extra to special to us. What do you guys do? Thoughts?
