Whats the odds of us getting a second half payment on the China tariff tax payment? I received the first half payment about 7 days after I reported my bushels to the FAS office. I was told then that the second payment would come in December, but now with China buying soybeans again things might change. Your thoughts

Western Illinois | We wont know anything for a while and anyone saying they know is just guessing. I'm guessing we get a 2nd payment but it will be very small.

Southern Nevada desert | I read yesterday that the Trump administration had suspended the second tranche of payments since the Chinese government had indicated it would begin limited purchases to fill its strategic reserve, the feeling was that the payments may no longer be needed. Wait and see suspension, not necessarily permanent. One of the stories: https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trade-farmaid/white-house-del... There are a few more out there detailing the likely size of the sales. Edited by Two Hawk 12/13/2018 11:51

The last I heard today, on farm radio news, is that the Admin. will make a decision by the end of the month, regarding the 2nd payment.

Remember who's president. We aren't getting one. All we get a chance to continue to sell beans under the cost of production.

Northeast Louisiana | Apparently someone is not looking at the big picture?? Some farmers have contracted the crops at a ok price.. Some farmers sold crops at rock bottom.... Some sold at the highs.... Some still holding in grain tanks..... Who is the winner or looser in this? Yes, I took a hit in the soybeans prices. But had my corn contracted at a decent price. This is not a one size fits all. Edited by SteigerSt320 12/13/2018 16:09

western iowa,by Denison | I wish Trump would come along with a program that you could send the bean payment back and give us vouchers against tax's worth 50%-100% more-you send it in -say $5,000 and they give you a credit of $10,000 on your federal tax return good until its used up-then take all the bean money returned and help build the wall-

And then there are the other 127 crops that got hit with a tariff, took a much larger hit and didn’t even get a first payment.

You just don't give up, do you? Get over it. The price if commodities right now has more to do with over production than tariffs.

Cass Co. ND | You poor thing. Maybe do a better job marketing or raising crops. Cut some expenses. Cut living expense. Or quit farming and get a job you are qualified for. I hear Soros is hiring people to troll and complain about President Trump.
