Subject: Dairy: Foaming teat dippers

northeastern Ohio
I'm looking for a new foaming dipper. I've tried a couple over the past few years:

First one that I bought was the Ambic Mulitfoamer: http://ambic.co.uk/products/teat-dipping/multifoamer/ Pro's: It was good at creating foam and it saved a lot of dip while still getting excellent coverage. Cost is only $14 each and replacement bottle is only $4. No hose to drag around. Con's: you need to squeeze the bottle to make the foam (it is hard for some people with arthritis and carpal tunnel). The bottle eventually cracks and eventually it stops foaming even after it has been completely cleaned.

Next I bought a T-150 Pro Tank Foamer: http://mail.mastitismanagementtools.com/products/T-150-Pro-Tank-Foa... Pro's: No squeezing required. Really nice dipper with a long reach to get those heifers that like to stand as far away as they can possibly get. Makes lots of foam. Con's: finding the right combination of air pressure and setting the valves to get a good foam (if not set right, you will get lots of air OR lots of dip OR slow foaming). Uses more dip than the Ambic, but still way less than a traditional dipper. Cost of $650 for the system. Plastic tanks don't last (The first one lasted 6 months before it split. The next one lasted a year. Bottom becomes rounded when pressurized and won't stand up.) Flexilla hose has also failed multiple times (I keep shortening it). Relief valve on the tank failed too.

So I am looking for a better product that will last and not leave me with a crippled hand while saving enough dip to pay for itself. Here are the options that I know of:

Thrifty makes another Pro foamer system that does not use a tank for about $1500: http://www.mastitismanagementtools.com/products/Thrifty-150pro-Foam...

Thrifty makes their own foaming dipper for $100: http://www.mastitismanagementtools.com/products/Thrifty-150pre-dip-...

Thrifty is advertising a new version called Dispencer for $50, but I don't see it on their website yet.

Ambic has several foamers to choose from:

Easifoamer: http://ambic.co.uk/products/teat-foaming/easifoamer/
Powerfoamer: http://ambic.co.uk/products/teat-foaming/powerfoamer/
Autofoamer: http://ambic.co.uk/products/teat-foaming/autofoamer/
FoamNdip: http://ambic.co.uk/products/teat-foaming/foam-n-dip/

Anyone have actual experience with any of the above choices?

Right now, I am leaning toward the Ambic Power Foamer. It looks like it just needs an air source and all I would need to buy is a couple of these $100 extension kits: https://www.coburn.com/extension-kit-f-ambic-power-foamer-apf314
