Northeast, NE | Drilled on July 25th after winter wheat was harvested and cattle manure was applied. It received about 10" of rain since planting.
25 lbs cereal rye, ? lbs volunteer wheat, 15 lbs winter peas, 2 lbs crimson clover, 2 lbs Hairy Vetch, 1 lb cowpeas, .5 lbs sorgow forage blend, .5 forage collards, .5 lb purpletop turnip, .5 lb graza radish, .5 lb sugar beets, .5 lb safflower, .25 lb squash. Cost about $28/ac. for seed
I have used mixes before, but nothing like this.
Observations: In the future I would skip the cereal rye, because there is plenty of volunteer wheat. I don't like the safflower. I am not seeing 15 lbs of winter peas, and half a pound of sorgrow forage blend looks like a lot out there.
