red river valley se of fargo | I am feeding my first pen of colored cattle. I used to feed Holsteins. I have pretty much full blood Angus heifers I'm finishing. They will avg around a 1000lbs right now.
I'm feeding 20lbs whole corn, 2.5 lbs ddg, 5lbs alfalfa/head/day they are also getting mga, rumensin, mineral, and chewing on free choice grass hay.
My nutritionist wants me to keep them on this diet till slaughter but I'm wondering if I can push the corn a little more without issues? I guess with these markets I'm impatient to get them finished. Thanks. |
