Subject: Direct cut question.

Beresford, SD
Probably should be in machinery talk, but a grain farmer wouldn't get it. Question, I have my 6650 Spfh, a kooima earlage adapter, could a guy attach a 215/216 John Deere flex head (can be bought Cheap) to the adapter and direct harvest oats for silage with that set up. I have an out let to fold a head, could that be used to run the reel? I'm dumb when it comes to this kinda stuff, just thinking on how to avoid swathing. (Have to hire that done) Planting a blend of grain oat and everleaf forage oats......moisture of feed should be perfect to direct cut.

Pic 1. Working ground today.......spring fever is here.
Pic 2. Side by side of Jerry and Everleaf forage oats last year.....planting a 50/50 blend of the two this year. Hence my question. I think the blend of two oat varieties, direct cut could be the perfect moisture to direct cut.

Can't sleep, maybe thinking to hard.
