south east Indiana | Lambing is gearing up, not quick going full swing but a few ewes lambing daily now. Going well actually but I hesitate to say that too loudly. Had my first pull yesterday. Always wonder if interrupting things causes a problem. Checked ewes just shy of daylight and took a bottle out for the two lambs. On first glance everyone looked good. ewes began walking out of the barn so I fed the lambs then did a walk through. Good thing I did since a ewe had 2 feet and a nose out under her tail. From what I saw was plenty big, ram lamb no doubt. 'Want help with that?" Called Z in to help me snag her out in the lot. Not a hard pull but didn't just slide out either. tongue was a bit dark so most likely just in time. Started breathing right away but was a bit yellow. rather be lucky than good any day. Normally would have been out in the barn earlier, just worked out right. Since it was raining moved them into the barn and continued on to the next group waiting - Puppies
Little buggers are getting big. Five weeks old this week, hanging out in the yard some, working on housebreaking. They are exploring a bit and began carrying sticks around yesterday. Will not be long before they will be going full tilt like the border collies they are.
New addition this morning Meg helped me move in since we are expecting more rain today.
