Subject: John Deere 7100 row spacing

eastern Kansas
Looking at a 7100 4 row for my son's sweet corn patch and maybe to plant plots. The One we found is on 38" rows, is it easy to move the drive tires and rows to make it a 30" or do you have to do some cutting and welding like on a 7000? Absolutely no experience with mounted planters around here and this one is too far away to just go and look. Just thought a mounted model would take up less shed space, but maybe need to get a 7000 instead. thanks for any help
