Subject: what hyperinflation looks like unfolding in real time

Pittsburg, Kansas
Note: note how hyperinflation is NOT caused by an excessively over heated economy. In other words, ordinary demand driven inflation is not the normal precurser to hyperinflation. Hyperinflation is not ordinary inflation on steroids. It is caused by a loss of confidence the money will retain value. Excessive currency creation and government deficit spending are contributing factors, but lost confidence in a fiat currency that the only real value it has is confidence is the beginning of the end.

It likely has one or two years life left before it is totally abandoned.

It will function for as long as possible in the currency "medium of exchange" capacity but will be completely abandoned when its "holding value" role is reduced to such a short time frame that it can't be spent fast enough.
