NE Nebraska | I have a 4-5 year old HP desktop computer. A few weeks ago the monitor status box would pop up randomly --I think it said VGA signal active.
The entire screen would turn black. I'd wait a few seconds and the screen would return to normal. Only happened about once a day.
Then it happened multiple times one morning so son changed something and things were fine for a week or so. Not sure if he changed the cable or the port.
Now it's happening again- this time it says DVI signal active (might be due to what son changed).
It usually happens right when I go to a website that I've never been to before. If I close out the site things are back to normal.
Thoughts or suggestions?
