Subject: Has anyone shorten their own semi frame

Boone, Iowa
A buddy of mine has pulled off the 60" sleeper from his 379 Pete. He is thinking that now would be a good time to shorten the frame 20-30" inches. Everything will be slid forward and the holes will be drilled with a mag drill. We are thinking that some holes will line up with some old holes and some may intersect an old hole. Is it best to put a washer on the inside of these holes? Any unused holes will get 10.9 bolts to fill the holes. Is there any other helpful info that I can pass along? Thanks.
