Virginia | In response to the post below, here is a recipe that's sure to please.
5 pounds short ribs
4 T flour
4 t mustard
1 t cloves
1 cup water
3/4 cup chopped onions
2 T worcestershire sauce
1 cup catsup
1 1/2 t salt (leave out if you have HBP, you will probably never miss the salt)
1 1/2 t pepper
2 cups sugar
1 cup vinegar
Cut fat off ribs and cut them into bite size pieces. Pressure cook ribs for 15-20 minutes (wife wasn't sure about the time, didn't have time in recipe)
Mix flour with sugar and add in other dry ingredients. Gradually add water, vinegar, worcestershire sauce and catsup to the mixture.
Drain off water from the ribs in pressure cooker. Add the above mixture to the ribs and stir in chopped onions. Simmer on stove for about 45 minutes or stick them in the microwave.
Be sure to serve mashed potatoes with the ribs. The sauce on the ribs will be the best gravy you will ever put on your mashed potatoes.
