In the 1960s those 2 counties had a couple of rounds of exchange trips where kids from one county spent a couple of weeks with families in the other county. I was lucky enough to go to Minnesota and then our family kept a boy from Minnesota.

Anybody from those trips around on NAT?

It was a fascinating experience for me while in my mid teens to see how people farmed in such a different environment. It made me appreciate the Midwest a great deal.
