Subject: 4 years of record production (cont.)

Death comes to us all. Life's but a walking shadow
In the thread below there was some discussion comparing our current situation with the 1980's. Just out of curiosity I pulled up the Oct. 1985 WASDE to compare with our 2015 WASDE. It makes for some interesting comparisons. Chinese, Ukrainian & Brazilian production isn't even mentioned. For the record Index Mundi list China and Brazil's 1985 production as 63 & 20 MMT respectively and Ukraine's 1987 production as 8.3 MMT.
The fact is world corn production has only about doubled in thirty years but so has consumption. And where are the big increases in production, the US, China & South America?
What that suggests to me is that a production shortfall in any one of those three areas, even a modest one has the potential to affect prices.
