A good friend bought a scope for his .22 Remington Model 550-1.  It's an older rifle and it appears that the scope mounts on the side of the rifle rather than the top.  There is no dovetail grove and no holes on top.  There are mounting holes on the side like a Savage Model 340.

I'm trying to find mounts for him after suggesting he put a scope on the rifle.  He purchased a 3-9x scope with a 1" tube.  I can't find anything at Midway,  Brownells or Amazon.

I've looked using Google and typing "Remington Model 550-1 scope" and Remington 550-1  mounts  but everything just ends up for other rifles.
