Subject: Flooding in NE Iowa

Driftless SW Wisconsin

There are quite a number of folks on NAT in the Shell Rock/Cedar Rapids Iowa area who are again in the path of some serious flooding.  Our thoughts are with you.

I had to make a business drive through some low lying areas of SW WI yesterday and the flood damage is considerable for those in the many valleys around here.   The hills of the driftless area are beautiful but also funnel runoff from our very saturated soils into the valleys, taking out many roads and fences and crops and some buildings with it. Road crews will be very busy for some time.

Thank you to those township and county workers who bear the brunt of the cleanup duty.
