Delaware | I'll start with the problem, then ask the question.
Last night had storms pop up at 2:30am and we got 2-3" in about 45 minutes with lots of lightning. Forecast was 30% chance of showers and less than a tenth of an inch possible unless a thunderstorm came. We needed to keep irrigation running because we are seeing temps in 90's all week and heat index up to 115 degrees at times, but we don't like all the bills when we get a lightning strike on a running system and/or continuing to put water out there when we get a 2" rainstorm.
So the question:
Is there a weather app or anything similar that would go off on my smartphone alerting me that storms have formed up and are less than an hour away from hitting the farm? As much as I love waking up periodically through the night to check weather, when they are calling for chance thunderstorms all week it would be nice to have a computer watching things for me a little bit. | |
