Subject: Surging 4000 watt onan gen help



Caraway, AR

It is 4bgefa26100f starts and runs good except for surging, can't be good for AC.
Have adjusted all fuel screws and the only way to get  it to stop is screw the bump stop almost all the way.
Have a kil a watt meter for setting the RPM/cycles.

Had one doing that. Dealer said unit MUST be level. Those units have an oil level switch that causes the surging. I just ran it a little over full after that.

I had a generator do that once. Not that brand. I messed with it a fair bit but couldn't get it. Took it to a guy and he changed the throttle shaft. That fixed it. Was a vac leak.
