Eastern Shore of MD | I have a Perkins 6.354 (no turbo) 85hp engine with a Cornell pump that I am no longer using. I was considering taking the pump off and installing a generator to run my pivots (or house) in case of extended loss of power. My well is a 30 hp submersible with a 4 tower and a 3 tower Reinke with 2 hp booster pumps. Tower drive motors are 3/4 hp. Only one pivot would be run at a time. Is my Perkins strong enough to run this? How many kW generator should I look for? Also, the Perkins has a SAE 3 bell housing and 11 1/2" flywheel. | |
