Subject: Dodge dual displacement VS GM active fuel managment ??

Hagen Brothers farms,Goodrich ND
I have not owned a pickup with either system, but curious if the Dodge dual displacement system that idles and pulls on 8 cylinders, while cruising on 4 cylinders, very similar in operation as the GM active fuel management system.

I have read many posts about valve train wear and oil consumption with the GM AFM system, but nothing bad about the Dodge dual displacement system. What say you Dodge / Ram owners, is the dual displacement less troubled than the GM AFM system ?? Just curious which engines use the system and has it been reliable. TIA
