Subject: SNAKEBITE SUCKS-NO PICS BE GLAD

Tablerock Ranch eastern Wa
You guys that have economic hits to snakebite any ideas ? every late spring we turn fall cows out after preg check and working, drift them six miles to our river ranch, this place is postcard pretty, but heavy western diamondback population "old west river canyons" haven't done pics for a while but will get some on, seems like first week or two we get one or two bit, this year was no exception almost always fatal as bite is around face / nose the old girls give the snakes their space but seems the two or three year olds must screw with the snakes and induce a bite. Wish we could get them down there before snakes emerge as once they have been around each other for a while problems end but there is no way to time it that way, might be able to put younger stock away from the worst areas ? how bad do you have it ? any ideas ?
