Subject: Tomato paste


I've been using store-bought tomato paste to make some of my sauces.  I got to wondering..... does anyone make their own tomato paste?  It seems to me that you would just cook tomatoes on low, like making tomato sauce, until you get the thick consistancy.  However, I think burning would be a concern.  Does anyone do this? Would it work in a slow cooker?

Thoughts anyone?
