Subject: 8100 vs 8400 John Deere

West Central, IL
I have been looking for a 8000 series FWA. I have looked at all 81,82,83 and 8400s. I plan to use this tractor to plant and grain cart with. (16 row 3700 kinze, and brent 974 grain cart). I also may like to pull a 11-13 shank nh3 bar in hills. I doubt I would rip, but if I did it would be with a 3pt 5 shank in line.

The 8100s I have looked at are the early ones with the 7.6L. Will I be happy with just a 8100 or should I try harder to find a 8400 with the 8.1?

Thanks for the input.
