Subject: Need help choosing new tillage tool

East Central Ia
We have been almost 100% no till for a long time but over the last 4-5 years we have started growing more corn on corn. We are now closer to 2/3 corn 1/3 beans. Have been pretty interested in strip till but dad is very concerned about staying on the strip with the rolling odd shaped fields we have. So we are in search of an newer tillage tool.
We currently run an old DMI Coulter Champ and really like the job it does. We do not have deep compaction that needs to be taken out with deep tillage so we want something to run about 8-10'' deep on 15'' centers. We are looking for either a Coulter chisel or some type of Disk chisel. We want it to have some type of leveling attachment on the back... either another disc gang or a heavy spike type harrow.

We want to set it up to put NH3 down with our tillage pass so some of the shanks will have small nh3 knifes that will pull pretty easy. Dad has done this in the past and got along good. We will be pulling it with an STX325 95% of the time (thats running a fair amount stronger then stock), or a chipped MX305. We are hoping to be in the 15, possibly 17 shank size range. Been pulling our 11 shank (4 of those being parabolics in the wheel tracks) with our old 7250, or MX 255.

What we have found looking on the manufacturers web sites are a couple tools by Sunflower, Landoll, Deere and Great Plains.
Sunflower:
4213 Coulter chisel
4511 Disc chisel disc ( have heard that these pull very hard?)

Landoll:
2227 Disc chisel Disc
2100 Coulter chisel

Great Plains
something called the Turbo chisel? I think its a new tool that doesn't seem to be on their web site.

John Deere:
714 (A nearby dealer has a nice used one, haven't seen it though)

Does anyone have any expierence with any of these tools or have any other suggestions?

Thanks!
