Subject: Honda GC160 motor runs too rich

Chebanse, IL.....

We use a little Honda GC160 motor on atv sprayer. It's been running rich lately. Almost like choke is on, but it isn't. Otherwise motor runs OK.

I was going to try leaning it down w/enrichment screw on carburetor, however I see it has some type of "stop" lug molded into adjust screw. Have you ever seen this before? Is this in fact the enrichment screw? If you look @ photo, you can see idle adjust screw (phillips head) is just above the slot-head screw (which is now slightly burred). You can only turn this slot-head screw about 1/8th turn. The lug stop appears to be some type of soft metal...like lead.

Anyone ever adjusted these? Do I just twist harder to break lug? Or try & cut it w/dykes? Or-just leave it alone & consult authorized Honda dealer? It really puts out black smoke.

Thanks
