Subject: JD 714 chisel vs. JD 512 disc ripper??

Croswell, Michigan
I have a 9 shank 714 chisel plow and want trade for an 11 shank. I found a really sharp 512 5 shank disc ripper, width would be very close to the 11 shank chisel plow. How would it compare to the chisel plow in corn stalks and wheat stubble? I probably would not be interested in it if did not bury at least as much residue as the chisel plow. Never ran a disc ripper, am I comparing apples to apples or apples to oranges?

If one would replace the other, I could then sell a ripper that I have also.
