Subject: early vs late beans

SC Kansas
I've always heard that early beans out yield late beans, and maybe that's true in a "normal" year, if there is such a thing. Do you think that there's more risk/more reward in planting early? It seems that if we plant here around the 25th of may to 1st of June we get pretty consistant yields, just not the top end. We also don't seem to have the disasters though either.
