Subject: Cover crops

Coastal South Carolina
I would like some thoughts on cover crops. I am in coastal South Carolina. We usually have one or two mild frost by Thanksgiving. This year has been warmer than usual. Most days have been in the upper 60s to lower 80s for the last couple of weeks to a month. We usually do not have hard freezes until January

I planted a cover crop mix of clover, turnips, and rye 10 days ago. It was planted late due to flooding and continued rain. Since planting we have had an additional 8 inches of rain. It is planted on heavier dark soil. It has come up, but my question is: Are these plants/seed (clover /turnips) going to rot and give me no benifit?

Thanks
