Subject: Cows vs stockers

Thoughts on buying older cows SS-BM-SM BRED running 950-1400 - can run on sorghum Sudan hay and DDG (1-1.25$day)and when available go to wheat pasture if needed - graze off I am figuring on 1.25 income potential lost for grazing a pair instead of a yearling. Cows I have more time when I sell next May as a pair - next Labor Day as a killer with a nice big calf or try and breed some back and go another year - when a steer is ready to go it has to go can only hold so long - cows I have time to play around with plenty of options. Any thoughts or suggestions. I haven't ever really ran cows on wheat but on droughted out graze off and it wasn't lush but was better than the non existent native pasture.
