Subject: Soil fertility and weeds

West Ky
Does a farm that has no 9-23-30 / map /dap/ potash etc Etc applied in many many years will cause chemicals to not work correctly and have weeds everywhere even if the coop sprays their field with the same formulation as the neighbor and their corn (same corn as well) is much better looking, bigger ears and very clean.
I got him to change his depth from 2" to 1.5" and his stand is vastly improved over from what he has had.

Asked me what I thought on why his fields were covered up in grass and weeds. All I could think of that was different was the dry that is applied every year but not on his.

Would not applying dry in years and years cause an imbalance in the soil and cause chemicals to not work correctly??
