Grabill, Indiana | These two ears came from the same field. The more mature ear was from corn planted on Memorial Day, the other planted on June 5. The ears were taken from the same field about 50 feet apart. Because of the crazy rain this spring we weren't able to plant the entire field at the same time.
In 2010 we planted corn on June 4 and had a good crop. I'm not expecting this year's late planted corn to do the same since we haven't had enough heat and our root systems are too shallow.
