Clark SD | This is referring to the soaking rain that we had on 8/18. I downloaded the data logger on a rain guage that was a couple miles away, but all indications appear that the rain fall pattern was simular at both locations. The soil types where the run off came from are the barnes which has a infiltration rating of .6 to 2 inchs/hour (located on the summit and back slopes) and the buse which is rated at .2 to .6 inches/hour.( located on the shoulder slopes). The following table shows the rainfall rate in inches/ hour during the day. The pictures show the water that was comming out of the culvert about 18:30 on the 18th.
