I remember Daddy bringing home our first TV back in the middle 50's. It had a small oval screen and some metal ears on top that you would have to play with in order to get the black & white picture. Lots of time it would be so fuzzy and wavy that you couldn't hardly see the picture. Every evening we would gather around it to watch the evening news and the weather. The first TV personality that I ever knew was a man by the name of Bruce Frazier. He was a Spanish instructor at our Jr college. With 6 brothers and 6 sisters, it was the only time of the day that we didn't dare make a peep. Daddy was hard of hearing and we did not interrupt that program. Bruce wrote a book telling of his life experiences and his son passed on one of his recorded stories from that book. Hope you find it as interesting as I did. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w00gpvk1G00 |
