Subject: Where is your sweet spot on your square baler?

NW Missouri
Weather has not cooperated at all this year for hay but I took a risk this week and baled some hay with my two friends, me and myself. Funny all my other friends were on vacation (grain farmers) or had something else to do. Maybe it was the 95 degrees and 107 heat index? Anyway I cut Sunday, tedded Monday and baled on Tuesday. One of my best experiences baling with this baler. I must have hit the sweet spot on baling, 470 pto speed, 1.8 mph and pulling in two 11 foot windrows of brome hay. Punching out a 65 lb bale every ten seconds, 13-14 strokes. 500 bales in two hours. I didn't miss a knot, no accumulator malfunction, plugging. I have found if I keep the pickup full of hay as much as possible I greatly reduce any problem with the accumulator and missized bales. Myself picked up the bales after I finished. Me just drove the truck.
