Amherst WI | We put some cattle in our barn tonight for the first time.
This project started in October, a really slow construction crew drug it out to the end of March. Then it was up to me to finish stuff up like waterers, electrical, gaurd rail and gates right when I was getting busy in the field.
Two of the three pens are done enough cattle can be in them for now. The curtain needs to be installed yet and a row of gaurd rail along the top of the concrete has to be put up yet.
We put our 2014 calves in there that should have been in there several months ago and the cows can come and go as they please until the whole thing is done and it's full of steers. I've got the neighbors 2014 calves coming later in the week too. The plan is to run Holsteins for the most part.
