Northeast Missouri | Yes, you read the subject right. And some of you have had the same thing happen.
When I went down the hill to feed yesterday I spied a calf far off, away from the group. I drove down there on the Gator and no cow came running, so I thought: a twin, and the cow has walked off from the first-born calf.
I scooped him up in my arms and climbed on the Gator go find "Mom", with him laying across my lap. We took off after I got him convinced that he wasn't going to drive (got his front legs out of the steering wheel).
He struggled a bit as we rode along, then like magic quit struggling. Shortly after, I felt the spreading wet warmth on my right leg--which explained why he'd suddenly grown calm. But not having him struggle was worth it. Besides, once you're wet, what's another pint or two?
As the 1st picture shows, we found Mom--the other twin was close by.
The 2nd picture shows my wet jeans. (What it doesn't show, is that my jeans weren't all that was wet.<g>)
