SE NEB | The general consensus is that corn will be moving up and beans down. Right now our ethanol plant has been lowering the basis and is at April .18 May .16 and June .20. I have old crop that is contracted with no basis set and corn not contracted. Is it a good time set basis? Or will the farmer still slowly funnel the corn and keep the basis low/lower.
What about beans? Same situation. Some contracted and need to set basis, some not. When would be a good time to set basis? Will it get better. We had a .09 basis in Feb and is at .22 currently.
Just wanted some opinions.
