Subject: Raising Stockers in Hoop Barns

White Cross, NC
Currently running around 100 brood cow and calfs. Been looking for more pasture to expand for last several years and theres just none around here. so wanting to get into raising stockers in a hoop barn. will be using our own calfs and buying some also. buying 400 weight running them for 120 days and selling them hoping for 2-3lbs daily gain. Wanting to start out with a barn big enough for 100 head at first then maybe expand.

One reason I like the hoop is for sunlight and the air movement, and no sweating from metal roof. Will be feeding small grains and sorghum baleage. and using a mixer to handle round haylage bales and ground corn that will be raised on farm to feed in fenceline. Whats a good mixer that want cost me a fortune to get started with.

Can anybody help me with numbers to see if its profitable. And guys that are already doin this there ideas.
