What are the pros and cons of farming on some of the soils in SE Kansas. From what I've heard the soils are highly weathered and contain high amounts of clay under a shallow topsoil. Can anybody in the area help describe to me what kind of goes on down there. I know the longer growing season is beneficial for double cropping situations and such.
