NC IA | Wife, I, and 2 & 3 yr old boys wanting a 3 day weekend getaway, somewhere in Iowa or surrounding states. Not looking to spend a pile of money, but gas is cheap, we are spontaneous and like to travel. Need to find some stops for the kids to run around (wintertime). We have been to the Mississippi river aquarium in Dubuque IA and the toy tractor museum in Dyersville. The boys like tractors, trains, etc. I see that Farmall-land in Avoca appears to be closed in the winter. The Black Hills and Branson have been in my mind but they are probably a little too far away for that short of time. Have a sister in the twin cities, we might go visit her, they have a nice children's museum in St. Paul.
