TASS was (is?) the acronym for Tyelyegrafnoye agyentstvo Sovyetskogo Soyuza for the Russian news agency famous in days gone by for being the propaganda tool and mouthpiece of the Soviet Union. I wonder if it is just coincidence that one of our newest correspondents goes by the name Tass? What are the implications of this?
