N FLA | I bought these cows 60 days ago. Avg 625# and average price $480. I don't have good pics from then. They are all solid mouth cows. Small frame cows but that's what I tend to get a lot of with the open cows. Especially 60 days ago packers would pay much more per pound for big frame cows. Right or wrong I don't like to pay 0.90@#1000 for poor cows. I like to risk about 750@ 0.75. Though many tend to weigh out below 1000# when sold. Theyve backed off alot here now. Also some sales a few guys are competing for the big frame poor cull cows at any price. But show no interest in a small frame cow. I don't mind keeping these if they are bred back when we check in May. Or sell open cows through the summer.
They are grazing froze out brown grass and eating the DDG/salt/mineral mix and appear to be coming along nicely.
I bought this last pictured cow with the sporty paintjob at the last sale. She was 7m bred @ 1.18 or about $1300, just an odd looking thing I don't know if she will grow on me or not. Maybe if she raises a rocking little calf
