| I'm seeing several posts by folk who can't get on one of their favorite web-sites. As a former network systems tech, I can share with you some of the scenes behind the curtain.
Spammers are horrid on the internet. They tie up server resources and can make other problems for the network admins. And since spammers can hit any web-site at any given time, So, Net Admins got together and have an IP sharing service thru which the IP addresses of infected computers are put on the "block" list through a magical set of computer code.
IF YOU GET BLOCKED, you can use a proxy-server to get onto the blocked web-site (or use your cell phone or a friend's computer) and let them know you've been blocked. The system admin, if they are not over-worked with other duties, can advise you what you need to do to get unblocked. Some will actually over-ride the automagic system and let you into their magic kingdom without any fuss on your part.
