Subject: Measuring elevation?

SW Ohio
Just curious if there is a way to measure elevation, for a topo map and tiling layout possibilities with what I already have, which is a cruiser 1 with helix ant, or the PF advantage monitor with small hockey puck? How accurate will they be, i.e. + or - inches or feet or what? I know some use a hand held unit on a stick that has a rather small ant. and these can be sub inch but is that due to being tied into something else like CORS or RTK? Just working on a DIY job on a small field with very little slope.
