West of Broken Bow | A family member had been having chest pains, headaches, and other symptoms for which he went to see his primary care Dr about. He was depending on the Dr to thoroughly check him out. Keep in mind that the Dr is well beyond retirement age. The Dr missed an obvious problem with the heart.
A referral was asked for and given to go see another Dr. The second dr observed the symptoms and diagnosed the problem real quick. After more tests, it was determined to be fatal if not corrected immediately. Had his primary care Dr either been paying attention (or maybe he's just no longer able to do his job) last year, this heart issue could've been taken care of then or even sooner than that. Apparantly, this problem has existed for a long time and has been getting worse. We had no clue.
Death could've occurred at any time. It just goes to show how valuable a second medical opinion can be. This one saved a life. ^^
