Iowa | Have had a John Deere 9600 combine with a 12 row corn head for 5 years now and need to be able to go faster this year. We are in 15-19 % moisture / 170-245 bushel corn consistently and the only way to keep it from coming out the shoe (not walkers) is to slow down. Sweet spot has been 2.3MPH on combine radar...Our Integra monitor shows 2.6MPH. Would like to be able to go around 3MPH.
Any tips on how to do this? Have tried about everything but we are pretty picky with how much corn is on the ground. Takes too much effort to grow it to leave it there.
Chaffer set to 15-18 on dial, pre cleaner a little more than book, cylinder at 340-400 depending on moisture, concave at 3-4. Air at 1070-1110
Thanks and hope everyone is having a safe and good harvest.
