Guy that works at Home Depot does a little farming on the side.  Told me of how some "open pollinated" corn he planted this year produced a lot of silage.  Rich encouraged me to go look at it.  So I did last week.  He's right..... there is a lot of corn there.  Probably more tons than anything I grew.

Would I be crazy to try some for silage? 

I realize it's nearly never crazy to try something on a limited basis.  But I was thinking of a hundred acres or so.  So I'd like to have a little more confidence, knowing I would be likely to be satisfied with the results.  

So what do you think? 

"Go ahead.   Beat me over the head for the idea.  I won't feel it."   :)
